My name is Sarah J., and I’m a 27-year-old from Adelaide, South Australia. After having children, I put on major weight and became depressed. I had bad eating habits; I used to eat my kid’s leftovers, I never bothered with portion control, and I never read the ingredients list or nutritional content on the back of packaging. I had poor time management skills and was lazy with meal prep, so I chose to eat convenient and easy processed meals.
I’ve taken medication for weight management in the past, but the weight always came back—it didn’t teach me how to distinguish between good and bad food. I have also tried running and the shake diet, but those didn’t work for me either.

I make my own meals now instead of taking the cheap, easy option of processed foods. I’m happier with myself, and I look and feel good in clothes; I’m able to shop anywhere as I’ve dropped from a size 16-18 to an 8.
